1. The audience are encouraged to believe that the two men in the short film always cause trouble and possibly enjoy annoying people.

2. The main characters display of kindness when he gives a bundle of bananas to the old man. The end of the short film shows us that the two main characters are deaf and actually aren't as bad as the audience most likely perceived at the start of the short film.

1. Signifier and Signified

2. Polysemy is when a sign (symbols, words, phrases etc.) can have multiple signified meanings.

3. He means that once enough people know about new meanings, they are accepted and agreed upon obver time.

5. The title acts as symbolic code as the doll helps make sense of the narrative and the fruit rotting acts as an enigma code

2. Icons are important as they are physical representations of the signified and indexes show proof of what is being represented, which is why you need icons alongside indexes in media texts.

3. As symbols have no resemblance to between the signifier and the signified, they must be culturally learned. Global companies would avoid using symbols as it would harder for those who aren't of that culture to use.
